Skiing and Snowboarding in the Dolomites
Modern facilities, a gorgeous Alpine scenery, and most importantly mountains of fresh snow make Villa Belvedere the perfect destination for your ski and snowboard vacation. Having hosted the Winter Olympic Games in 1956, Cortina d’Ampezzo is now one of the most prominent ski resorts in the world. Its infinite range of routes and slopes satisfies every skier’s dreams: first timers can ski gentle terrain while thrillseekers enjoy near-vertical drops. Due to excellent snow-making facilities, the ski season runs from early December to May, while cable cars from Cortina and free ski bus services guarantee an easy transfer even without a car.
Also featured in the 1981 James Bond classic “For Your Eyes Only”, the “Queen of the Dolomites” sees the Ski World Cup return every year to its stunning slopes. And if Cortina’s 140km of thrilling ski runs are not enough, the “Dolomiti Superski” pass gives you access to 12 connected valleys, 460 lifts and 1220km of pistes – arguably the biggest ski resort in the world. Snowboarders and freestyle skiers can enjoy themselves on large snowparks and freestyle circuits with half-pipes, jumps and rails. Should you feel like leaving the car parked, you can simply walk from Villa Belvedere to the ski resort of San Vito with 10km of slopes and 3 lifts.
