Cross-Country Skiing in the Dolomites
If you are looking for healthy exercise in the tranquillity and beauty of the Natural Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites, then cross-country skiing is the right sport for you – and Villa Belvedere your ideal winter holiday destination. The area around Cortina offers plenty of opportunities to clip on your ski and slide across 70km of perfectly groomed and well-marked ski trails. The Fiames Nordic Center alone offers a circular trail of 7km in length with artificial snow and night lighting. Cross-country skiing is fun and easy to learn, in classic or skating style!
Cortina is also part of Dolomiti NordicSki, the largest cross-country skiing area in Europe with some 1300 km of Nordic skiing trails that can be accessed with a single ski pass. A classic trail is the abandoned Dolomite railway track to Dobbiaco which now hosts a popular ski race at the start of February. Advanced skiers can enjoy the technical slopes at the Tre Croci Pass at an altitude of 1800m. However, you can also practice cross-country skiing in San Vito di Cadore: 6km of cross-country tracks await you in La Graes along the Boite river.
